I love the pose at the fence. The body has some wonderful lines in it. Can't say I like that striped shirt, though. It takes attention away from the face.

My vote is for the fence as well - nothing appeals to me in the others.

I like the upper right one where he is sitting down. I would slide him slightly more to the right. He seems more the center of interest in this one and it's more intimate. I like the angle of his head the best. The first one is nice but more figurative than portrait like.

Thanks Julie, Kim and Marvin. I am still on the fence about this one, pun intended. I like the pose of the one witht the fence, but I don't like the light on his face. I agree with Marvin about the sitting one, the light is better and his features are better visualized.

I met with the Mom today, the sitting one it is. Will also do the one by the fence as a sample to take to a gallery where I have some other things.

Long time no see! I also like the seated one the best - very nice personality showing through and the 3D quality will be nice - the background should push back nicely.

The first one is really cute, but from experience, I can tell you the perspective in his right arm is going to be more difficult than it looks.

Good to hear from you. I may have to email you as I progress on this one, if you don't mind. Been a while since I did a portrait.. Finished some murals and FINALLY will get to purchase a digital camera. I'm drooling over the Canon EOS 20D.
Yes, this is the little boy that I was supposed to do when the hurricane was blowing over. Very cute and precocious!
