Juried Art Show - A first for me!

I entered three of my portraits in the Baycrafters 25th Annual Juried Art Show and "Brandon" was accepted! I am so pleasantly suprised. When I brought my pieces in to register the small gallery was packed with beautiful pieces of art.

This particular show runs for a whole four weeks, through the Bay Village Rennaisance Fair, which draws thousands over the weekend! Hopefully this exposure will be good for future commissions. Attached is an image of the portrait.

I want to send the warmest thank you to all who helped me complete this portriait!! Your critiques, suggestions, and encouraging words have really bolstered my confidence over the past several months!!!

Seriously, this is a terrific drawing, and I'm not surprised it was accepted. It's strong and sensitively executed. Congratulations!

I hope there will be an opportunity at the show for you to display promotional materials, or at least a business card, for potential clients to contact you.

Congratulations! And I agree with Linda, it would be great if you could attach a business card somewhere near it, if the organizers would allow that.

How exciting for you, congratulations!

Your news warms my heart, especially because you overcame your "Artist's Block" period.

I am very happy for you.

Thanks! I have been floating all weekend! This boost is just what I need considering I have registered to begin a painting class next week, fifteen weeks, two nights a week. This is exciting but I will be very nervous to start painting (my one class experience two summers ago was dreadful). Again, I will resort to my "Steven Mantra" - "Show up and pay attention"!!!

I have printed more business cards, hoping to be able to have them available. Would it be appropriate for me to call the gallery and ask? The artist's reception is Saturday evening. I do not want to misappropriate my acceptance into the show.

Congragulations Pat! This piece is well deserving.

Definitely ask the gallery about business cards. All they can do is say no.

I saw a kid wearing a basketball shirt recently that I really liked. It said, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

Congratulations

What a lovely piece, Patricia! Your inclusion is well deserved.

Congrats Patricia!!!

Walk into the room as if it were your one hundredth acceptance.

You are all so kind! Your encouraging words boost my esteem more than being accepted into the show! I did call yesterday to see if my cards or brochures could be displayed and was told no. However, I did learn that if I am interested, next year I can rent a booth. I have never been to their Renaissance Fair, obviously I will this year! Will check out what artists have booths and see what kind of action they get!!

Mike, your words are especially encouraging, as if you read my insecure mind. I feel like I am somewhat of an imposter, this being my first. I'm telling myself this is natural!!
