Hey, Carlos,

I gather from other posts that you may be disappointed at the dearth of response to this posting.

First, the summer seems really slow . . . I think a few artists are sneaking out to remember what leisure in the sun feels like. I have been absent (with leave) quite a bit myself.

Second, the Unveilings sections -- being off-limits for critiques -- often produce many responses of appreciation and admiration that do not actually get posted. It tends to be more of a gallery than a workshop. (Many members are shy about even commenting, much less critiquing.)

If you re-post this in Drawing Critiques, especially with your reference if not drawn from life, you'll likely find that responses will be more forthcoming.

It's a nice drawing, by the way. Any reservations I might have are about anatomical proportions, but I wasn't willing to make those observations unless I saw reference material that confirmed my intuition.

By the way -- to all members -- please don't be shy about using the Critiques area earlier, before you post a "final". Almost NO members will be comfortable making editorial suggestions on a piece that the artist considers "done," especially once it's been delivered to the client. I suspect that it's kind of an innate tenet of professional courtesy.

Hi Steve!

Thanks for the comments. I'll email you the photo I worked from so that I don't have to post [her] picture on the WWW. I don't think people mind that I post a drawing, but a photo might be going to far :-)

The weather here in Florida is way too hot in the summer to enjoy the outdoors! I think there's less humidity in Texas?

Carlos,
I agree, about the distortion. There is too, much distance between the eyes, especially with a three quarter. view of the face. Perhaps you were deliberate doing this. If, so, maybe you could do a little more distortion to make sure it looks on purpose. That said, nice job!

I appreciate your posting.

Best, Lei Iverson

Lei,

Thanks for the tip! No, it wasn't deliberate - I just wasn't aware of it.

Carlos
