Father's Day

Finally on a roll. I did a Mother's day portrait in watercolor and am getting calls and responses from California! Maybe even comissions.

These sisters are a commission and a challenge. This was a bit sticky but I held to my pricing guns. I work small and if anyone is shocked, we just downsize. She is happy with all the progress pieces and I think I am done.

BUT it is a sample piece to show a very depressing client who gave me two photos of his grandkids and said "I want a 24x16, I think in oil... how much?" and I quoted $1200 shook his hand and said I would give him a contract when my computer was up and running.

Two hours later, he asked me to hold off, that his wife had gotten the two OTHER grandkids, same size for $400. I told him he should definitely get the other artist, or go with this size if he was on a budget.

Holding my ground and standing by my work!

Good for you, Debra. If you don't place value on your work, who will do it for you?
