Stone Goddess

I was out of town visiting a friend this weekend & she took the kids & I to see this miniture copy of Stonehenge in the middle of nowhere in a farmer's field. Before you could say 'public nudity' I had her wrapped in a sheet & posing for me. Luckily only the nearby cows and goats were our witnesses. Could be interesting figuratives if I plan for it better next time!

She likes the name I chose already and I do not even have a painting planned yet.

I could not think of a costume that could historically go with this. She suggested laying on a rock with some hooded figures around here - a.k.a sacrifical virgin. I told her that I did not have a gallery contact that specialized in cult collectors, but you never know.

I'll bet it was that Druid goat that offered the sheet. Goats are always meddling in the affairs of people, you can't trust a goat.

Oh no, my friend had a clean folded sheet in the back of her truck. I did not ask why, NOT my business.

No, seriously when I heard we were going there I suggested the photo-op. Her husband ran around in circles raising his blood pressure worrying we'd get arrested. This is the state where you find stores like what I have attached a photo of (this is in my town) - how could a few minutes of partial nudity be a problem?

Dang Druid goat's were in the 'mood' - that was really fun explaining to the kids.

Does anyone else wonder why a Texas farmer would build this in his field?

Maybe he's kin to the Texas farmer that planted 10 cadillacs face down in his field! I still think the goats are behind this.

Kim and Mike,

That sign in yellow below the big GUN sign about sizes up the whole thing! You have to be a southerner (yep, I am) to understand and laugh at this stuff because we really do know half of its for "show"!

Thanks for reminding me of this "sculpture" that I think I've seen in a modern art history book, Mike. hehehehehe

Denise,

Post that one bigger, I can't make out what it is! Maybe that's why everything is bigger in Texas - we can't see well.

I've actually seen the Cadillac farm. They can be seen from I-40 a little west of Amarillo in the Texas panhandle.
