New Scott Burdick demo

I visit Scott's website often, as his demos are so instructive, and I can't find enough good things to say about his painting style. I visited his site again this morning, and saw that he'd added a new demo.

In this demo, the face started out almost as a general egg shape that was sculpted into a portrait. I haven't read all the text yet, because I wanted to share it with y'all before I run off to work.

Give it a look:

Thanks for posting this link, Jeff. I bookmarked the page for future study.

Talk about a terrific example of inside/out drawing. He finishes the eyes before drawing anything else and later the whole face is completed before he even marks in where the arms will be. Amazing! And a great example, also, of what Bill Whitaker calls "juicy brushwork". I do enjoy Scott Burdick's paintings and demos.

Thanks for that Jeff. Love that style, it sure helps to go big.

In one of his demos, the one with the girl next to a mirror, he did a small study first. Despite the size, it was just as masterful.
