Daniel Greene videos

I was reading American Artist today, and saw that Daniel Greene videos were now selling for almost $80. I recently bought one for about $65, so I was surprised. But with a quick Google search, I found a sale! Only three of his titles are listed: "Erica", "Jim" (new), and the drawing video.

All three titles are on sale for $60 each. That's a worthwhile savings, so I thought I'd pass it along.

I'm thinking about buying one of the pastel tapes, even though I'm not planning on using pastels. I think it would be helpful for developing drawing skills, and I just might get the pastel bug.

Here's the link:

Thanks for that link. I also just saw that ad in American Artist today and I flagged it, intending to buy one of the videos. Think I'll get them on sale from the site you mentioned instead!

Greene's Portrait Drawing Tape

Jeff:

I've seen all but one of Greene's tapes (his latest pastel tape), and studied with him twice. If you want to improve your drawing skills, I'd recommend his portrait drawing tape over his oil/pastesl tapes. I use a modified version of his portrait drawing technique. I'm not saying he's the first or last word on the subject, but he as some creditable ideas. Just a thought.

And, while I have your attention, have you (or anyone else) ever bought any of the John Micheal Carter portrait tapes? Or, how about Paul Leveille? Carter has a two-reeler for $130, and Leveille has a one-reeler for $50.

I'd like some feedback from anyone about these, please.

Jeff,
Thanks for the heads up, I'm buyin today! And . . . nice to see you here. I have been thinking about you just this week wondering "where you've been"?

What are you working on these days?

For anyone not familiar with Paul Leveille, his video is shown on his web site. http://www.paulleveillestudio.com/video1.htm

I didn't find any Greene videos on the link you gave, Jeff. They must have removed it. However, you can find some here:

I have both the Erica and Jim videos and they're fantastic. I got them on eBay and if I remember right, I paid less than $60.00 for both.

If there's something you're looking for, you can do a search on eBay and if it's not there you can set it up to notify you if somebody posts what you're looking for over a period of time. That's how I got my videos. I just told eBay to notify me if anyone posted anything by Daniel E. Greene.

In case anyone doesn't yet know, Dan Greene also sells his videos from his own website now: http://www.danielgreeneartist.com

I absolutely love Daniel Greene's work and would love to buy one of his videos but I don't have a television (on purpose) and I can't find his videos on DVD. I know Wende's are available on DVD and I wonder if I'm just missing something somewhere. Does anyone know if his videos are available on DVD?

Richard Budig 08-12-2005 07:55 PM

Brenda:

Dan Greene is available through his own web site, and I'm sure you can find it or access it thought this (SOG) site. He is one of the arists listed with this site.

His address is: http://danielgreeneartist.com/

To my knowledge, his work is on video, and not CD.

There's two Dan Greene videos up for auction on eBay. They are pastel portrait videos. Be aware they are in Greece and the shipping is $7.50 each.
