(Self critique) The image of the painting seems to be much more viviid than the actual paintiing. My camera stinks.
I always see stuff after posting. It is like a look through different eyes. Like, the highlights are too strong on the lady, and the man looks too dark. OK. Your turn. |
Hi Lon,
The woman's face, clothing, and hair appear brighter and shinier in the painting than the reference, especially as the man and the background seem to match the reference more closely. Also, her mouth appears too large. |
In addition to what Chuck said, I would soften the woman's hair so it's not seen as individual strands so much. The extra large mouth on the woman gives her a very extreme expression. Her smile in the photo is gentler. I would also soften the edges and contrast in the background.
Very nice color overall and the man's expression is warm and tender. |
Yes! This is the kind of pro stuff I expect to hear!!
You guys are good, you know it? I will hurry up and make the changes before anybody sees! (Hee-hee) What a great way to get your work polished. All I ever get around here is bravos. |
Another suggestion, Lon. The eye-corner wrinkles on the woman should be toned down quite a bit. They're not nearly so visible in the photograph and I know she'll thank you for it.
