Claytie - Posthumous
1 Attachment(s)
This posthumous portrait is a compilation of several photos, most of which were not clear enough for exclusive use as a source photo. The dominant features were taken from a school photo, clothing from another photo (per request by parents).
Claytie was nearly 6 when he passed away last summer from a stroke. He had a stroke earlier in his life, at which time he was paralyzed on his right side. He later learned to walk again, but because of the effects of the stroke his shoulder drooped a bit, causing his right suspender to follow suit. He was also born with Down's Syndrome and suffered a great deal of internal pain from another disorder. He is truly an angel and I have felt his presence while painting this. Please advise to any improvements. |

Never, in a million years did I expect such a reply! Steven, thank you! I enjoyed this painting very much and still have it in my possession until Claytie's parents approve it. Having never met him, I hope they approve the likeness. I can't tell you how you comments have truly encouraged me to cease questioning my abilities and just let the painting happen. I painted this in a little under 6 hours.
