Hi everybody, the subject of this picture (now 87 years old) has asked me to do a painting of this photo. What do you think? How can I make the composition more interesting?
All input is very welcome!

Sophie,

I don't see anything wrong with this composition, I think I would do it as you see it.

Mike is right. As it is it is a very interesting composition. In all it's simplicity there is actually a lot happening in the pose.

I used 'auto levels' in Photoshop on this picture, it enhanced the contrasts, maybe it's useful for you to digitally enhance the picture.

Thanks for your input Mike and Peter (Peter I had a look at your website (great stuff) and realised you're Dutch, as am I. Nice to 'meet' a fellow 'Kaaskop')

Again, thanks to you both.

Sophie
