Transporting fragile drawings

Friday I deliver my charcoal dreawing of Dean to the gallery for framing. Any suggestions on protecting it while in transit? The last time I went, I brought a drawing mounted on foamcore (just taped) the wind picked up as I took it out of the car, bent the foamcore, and almost took me for a flight. I felt very foolish and unprofessional. Any tips?

Lucky day! Today in class I heard Daniel Greene describe how last night's sitter should take the drawing to the framer:

Get three pieces of foamcore, cut one of them in a skinny mat; tape the drawing to one, lay the mat on top, cover with the other piece of board, and sandwich them together with some tape. If you worked on standard siaed paer, you'll be able to re-use the boards many times.

Thanks Chris, that will work perfectly!
