Information from ASOPA
 

Apparently there are some rumors that ASOPA is no longer operating. This is not true. However, they are going through some administrative changes and reorganization and as is typical during a time of change, there has been some confusion. Some of the problems are reflected in the letter below, which was published in their recent Portrait Signature magazine.

Dear ASOPA Patrons:

As President of ASOPA, please accept my apologies for the following debacles that have occurred within the last 100 days. ASOPA values our relationship with all patrons and we thank you for understanding the circumstances of these unfortunate events that may have caused you concern.

1. All Patrons of ASOPA should have received the most recent issue of our journal, The Portrait Signature (cover artist James Childs), in August 2002. ASOPA learned in late September that the journal was never mailed as was planned due to a major error made by our mailing vendor, The Copy Center.

ASOPA has been assured that this error will not occur again.
2. Almost all electronic communication (and email) to ASOPA was lost or corrupted during the period from mid-August to early October. Our computers were plagued by several viruses that virtually shut down ASOPA's electronic communications. ASOPA
