Taos Society of Portrait Artists - Call for Entry
 

NEW MEXICO, TAOS. The prestigious Millicent Rogers Museum hosts the Taos Society of Portrait Artists annual juried portrait exhibition in Taos, New Mexico. Open to all artists in AZ, CO, NM, OK, TX and UT.

The show will be exhibited during the month of May, 2003. Show coincides with Oil Painters of America's National Juried Show held at Nichol's Taos Gallery and the 20th Annual Taos Spring Arts Festival. The Juror is noted painter Teresa Vito. Two-dimensional traditional mediums, please no computer-generated or photos. Awards of $1000+ will be given.

Please pardon my ignorance on this, and, maybe I'm just missing something.

Why is it that all entries must be for sale? Would this not exclude all commissioned work?

Yes, this does preclude entries that are not for sale. It does not preclude the possibility of a new work being commissioned as a result of the exhibition. Portraiture is not only completed on a commission basis.
