Yuqi Wang

I'm looking for more information on Yuqi Wang. Specifically, biography and painting techniques. I've been looking at his work, but now want more info. Can anyone help?

I did a "Google" search on his name and got over 800 responses. Have you tried that already?

Hi Michelle

Yes I did. There is also a physicist by the name of Yuqi Wang, interesting fellow but not the one I want. When I got to the fourth page of looking and not finding what I want I thought I would ask here. I've been looking at his work on ARC, and it is incredible but no bio or info on him (personal). I was hoping someome here knew more about him.

There's a bit on him here, at http://www.commissionaportrait.com/a...olio.asp?id=50. He can be emailed from this site for (obviously) the definitive references to other sources of information.

You'll also find him in International Artist magazine, for his portrait society prize winning self portrait, but at the moment I can't put my hands on the details. More later.

His portrait prices start at $29,000 (head and shoulders). Just in time for Christmas!

Yes, International Artist magazine #14, August/September 2000. His self-portrait is on the cover. He won Grand Prize in the same Portrait Society of America competition in which Peggy Baumgaertner's "The Charlton Family" won Best of Show.

Yuqi Wang

Well, I wasn't interested in buying just yet. Maybe a birthday present. His work has a lot of energy. I've seen the ASOPA winner and a lot of others, but want to know more about him. I saw the commission site but didn't realize that was his, so I will go back and see what I can dig up. Thanks Steven.
