Finding a suitable title
 
When submitting a work to a show, besides size and medium used, we are often asked about the title of the piece.

Let's say you did a portrait/figurative piece that is now part of your collection and which has a certain intriguing background (different from the usual) or which conveys a certain mood/atmosphere. Do you ever title it other than the sitter

I have heard judges say that an interesting title sometimes makes the difference between a piece that catches their attention and one that doesn't.

That said, my titles are almost universally boring simply because I can't think up anything better to call a piece than what it is. I'm a visual person, not a word person, I guess.
