Delay or getting no response in critiques?

If you have posted for a critique, and there is a delay in getting a response, please don't write to one of the full-time professionals on the site after a day or two and ask them to come on and critique your work. They are very busy with their careers and, like all of us, have personal commitments as well. When they have something to say and have the time, they will make a post. It is important that we be respectful of their time and advice.

There are other reasons why you may not be getting a response from one of the full-time professionals on the site:

1. In some cases, newer members are asking some of the same questions that have been asked one or more times before. Therefore, it is recommended that you do a lot of reading before you make your first post for critique.

2. You have been critiqued earlier and it appeared you didn't take the advice given to heart as evidenced by:
  • a. no apparent change in future work posted
    b. arguing (blantantly or subtlely) with the critiquer about their advice
    c. other comments made by you where it seemed you didn't take the advice to heart or appreciate it
3. There are so many points that need to be corrected or your skill level is such that the professional hesitates to dive into all of them for fear of totally overwhelming or insulting you. You might consider taking some classes and then posting again.
