Need help or info about a Model Release please
I was wondering if someone could share a copy of the type of release you use for the models you take pictures of.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mark |
Here is the model release I use:
______________________________________________ Fine Portraits in Oil by Michael Georges Model Release Agreement Date: DATE HERE Model: _________________ Artist: YOUR NAME HERE Description: Model agrees to allow Artist to take photographs of him/her on DATE HERE. Model agrees to allow Artist to use said photographs of the Model in sketches, paintings, and other artistic works. Payment: Artist agrees to pay Model $XX per hour for modeling services. Rights: Artist will own the copyright and the right to display works produced with these photos and will retain slides/computer files of the works for use in exhibits and competitions. Artist also has rights of publication and reproduction of the works including but not limited to use of the works in: websites, publications, and promotion and advertising. Restrictions: Artist will not distribute or publish the photographs of the model without permission of the Model. Agreed to on DATE HERE: Artist: YOUR NAME HERE Model: |

I got this Model Release Form out of a book called "Legal Guide for the Visual Artist" by Tad Crawford. The book is filled with helpful information and wonderful examples of business forms related to the Visual Arts. I hope this will help.
Model Release Form In consideration of $_______, receipt of which is acknowledged, I, ____________ Do hereby give _________________, his (her) assigns, licensees and legal representatives the irrevocable right to use my name (or any fictional name), picture, portrait, or photograph in all forms and media and in all manners, including composite or distorted representations, for advertising, trade or any other lawful purposes, and I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written copy, that may be created in connection therewith. I am of full age.* I have read this release and am fully familiar with its contents. Witness_______________ Signed: _______________ Address:______________ Address:______________ Date: _________, 20__ Consent (if applicable) I am the parent or guardian of the minor named above and have the legal authority to execute the above release. This is what I needed. I am sure I can put something together from this. I had a wonderful shoot tonight and will have another one in a few days. I know the models well, but before I use them I wanted to get this release worked out. In the future I will take care of that first. At any rate they are more than willing to sign exlusive rights to me of all pics. Thanks again. Looking forward to starting on these!! Mark |
