They are indeed fine brushes! :)
Further, they are now coming out with bristle brushes, too! |
Michael,
I believe it was you who gets the credit for informing me about them. I owe you lunch and then some! Bill |
Trekell Sables
Wow thanks a bunch. I like to use mostly flats and Filbert sables (also known as a cat's tongue by Silver Brush) a lot at the finish of a painting. These are wonderful and they will save me a bundle. Shhh - let's not say this too loud they may raise prices.

Wow!!! I wish I knew about these brushes when I was in art school. They would have saved me a bundle. One of my professors turned me on to sable brushes, and I'm just not happy with anything else now. I'm painting with a small collection of Princeton Brushes now. Thanks for the great tip, Michael!
I tried using a bristle brush once, but it didn't seem to do anything for me at the time. This was mostly because I didn't really know what to do with it. What do you use them for? Allaya |
Bill,
Thank you so much for letting us know about these brushes! And thank you, Michael, for passing it along as well! I had to order some of these; living in Nevada, you see, I had to check it out! What a difference! I completed an entire painting using these brushes and they are still like new! Not a single hair fraying or anything! Of course, I did start using a bit of Walnut Oil at the same time and after a painting session used some of it on the brushes to keep them soft, so now I'm not sure if it's the brushes or the walnut oil, or a combination of both. Can't wait until the bristle brushes are available! |
