Very fine structure canvas?
Hi,
I would like to ask you for a research help. Does anybody know where I can find very fine structure canvas suitable for air brushing, watercolor or fine glazing technique. I have tried to reprime several times Frederix blue label. It could be a silk, or multiple layer priming, or something else, but not a panel. Stretched canvas is preferable. Thank you very much, Alexei |
You might try UTRECHT 66J unprimed linen.
Then go to a lot of trouble to prime it yourself.:) If you want to use airbrush, watercolor, or even oil, I suggest you prime it several times, back and front (after you've stretched it of course) with a high quality acrylic gloss medium that you've thinned with a little water. Thoroughly and carefully sand the canvas between applications. This will get rid of the fuzz and the nubbies. Prime the front of the canvas with thinned acrylic gesso several times, fill the canvas to your taste. Always sand, sand, sand. After lots of trouble, you will have a perfect personalized surface.
