Multiples are always somehow much more difficult than a group of singles - having a client who trusted me to carry out the vision made it so worthwhile.

While I will never paint like JSS, my client's favorite all-time painting fave is Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose. So I painted the lower section of the Sargent into the frame behind the sofa - its is always fun to include little oddities like this into a portrait where the client and I know what it is but most people wouldn't.

Photo at bottom is with the painting at Montgomery Frames in Tempe, AZ.

Very clever about putting part of the JSS painting in!

In one of Robert Schoeller's paintings, he showed a girl seated in a debutante gown, and at the bottom, she had a shoe kicked off, giving a bit of an edge:
