Thank you, Sharon and David !

Oh, Marina! Another incredible drawing! You have such a talent for capturing facial expressions accurately, and somehow you become the narrator of a story that is wise and sensitive and strong and meaningful. The same expression in the hands of a lesser artist would be cute and that's it.

Wow, your work looks impressive on the website of the Gallery of Canadian Drawing Masters. Congratulations!

Enzie Shahmiri 02-01-2008 06:21 PM

Wau Marina! Congratulations, this recognition is very well deserved!
I hope that one day I will be able to see your work in person.

Thomasin Dewhurst 02-01-2008 08:44 PM

Lovely, lovely, Marina. And congratulations on your new honour. It is so well-deserved!

Allan Rahbek 02-01-2008 09:20 PM

Marina,
I often wonder what became of the new member who wanted help with a Baronesse. ;)

Congratulations to The Cananian drawing Masters, they are lucky to have you around.

Carlos Ygoa 02-02-2008 06:40 AM

Marina, maestra!
Your work is such a lesson for me always. Beautiful.
Congratulations on your Honorary membership!

Marina Dieul 02-04-2008 10:20 AM

Allan, you're speaking about my early years ? :)

Ilaria, Mary Ann, Pat:
sorry for the delay... Thanks for your kind comments.

Thank you Margaret ! The Italian Renaissance drawings have been and still are a major influence for me...

Linda Brandon 02-27-2008 12:58 PM

Marina, I congratulate you on your well-deserved honor! This is a wonderfully sensitive drawing - I'll come back to it often to study it.

Claudemir Bonfim 03-05-2008 04:20 PM

Dear Marina,

I love everything you draw or paint. I'm a big fan of yours.

Marina Dieul 03-05-2008 10:21 PM

Claudemir,
you're so kind, thank you!

Tom Edgerton 03-08-2008 10:27 AM

This and the new charcoal are just more evidence of your amazing ability. Your tonal control is without parallel.

No wonder the Gallery has recognized you!

Thank you Tom !
Last year, during the PSA conference, I realised that I am a tonalist ( Thanks Margareth Baumgaertner !) During all my childhood I heard that I was a fine colorist, but I knew there was something wrong, but couldn't point what exactly... Now I know why I love drawing so much : it's all about value massing and tonal control...
