Three more Governors

I just found out I've been chosen to paint the official portraits of the three living former governors of Wyoming. They're expected to be finished mid-2008. That ought to keep me busy for a while!

Dan Landrie 08-27-2007 07:13 PM

Your portraits are absolutely beautiful, congratulations.

Debra Norton 08-27-2007 11:10 PM

Michelle, when I saw the post title I knew it had to be you! Congratulations! You will be one busy lady.

Mischa Milosevic 08-28-2007 04:47 AM

Michele, this is excellent news!! My sincere congrats and wish you many more.

Sharon Knettell 08-28-2007 09:58 AM

Michele,

Congratulations.

Wyoming is NEAT!

Make one of them wear a cowboy hat!

Michele Rushworth 08-28-2007 10:38 AM

I'm hoping one or more of the gentlemen will let me pose them outdoors, or wearing something other than a black suit!

Enzie Shahmiri 08-28-2007 11:28 AM

Michele,

You are one of those artists I was fortunate enough to see grow their career from having to solicit business to be solicited for business. I am very happy for you to see that all your hard work has paid off and that you are so sought after. Congratulations!

Julie Deane 08-28-2007 12:20 PM

Wow, Michele! A most well-desrved congratulations!

Joan Breckwoldt 08-28-2007 01:17 PM

Congratulations!

Congratulations, this must be like a dream come true. It will be exciting to see the three portraits, do we have to wait until mid 2008 to see them all unveiled at once or will you present them one at a time?

They are expected to be done by mid-2008 but with the past two governors commissions I created (Nevada and Washington) there were many delays due the governors' schedules, and other state agencies' requirements. That's a ballpark date at this point.

Linda Brandon 08-28-2007 09:42 PM

Wow, what terrific news, spectacular, old friend! That's quite a niche you've got going there, Michelle. Congratulations!

Alexandra Tyng 08-29-2007 12:31 AM

Yikes! Michelle, you are really on a roll--congratulations!

Pam Powell 09-02-2007 02:27 PM

That's really wonderful. I admire your work and am so glad you're having such terrific success.

Jean Kelly 11-27-2007 01:57 PM

Hi Michelle.

I understand that you are back from the sittings of the three "men in black". I hope you were able to have some fun with them, and get them out of office! Congratulations on this prestigious honor, I'm proud to say that I knew you when.

I'm looking forward to seeing some works in progress, or at least the finished pieces.

Jean

These should be very interesting portraits to paint. The first gentleman wore a casual jacket and bolo tie, the second one had his signature beige Stetson cowboy hat in his hand for the sitting -- and the third governor came to his sitting wearing a black Stetson hat, bolo tie, leather vest, big silver belt buckle and black jeans -- perfect for Wyoming!

Jean Kelly 11-27-2007 05:12 PM

Yah! And three cheers for you, Michelle! This sounds like great fun. Sharon, I totally understand that Michelle would never compromise her professionalism in her pursuit of fine art with a capital F (fun). Hee Hee.

Congrats all around for you! Now I expect to see some really Fine Art come out of those hands of yours.

Oops!!!!!

I just reread what I wrote earlier. When I said "out of office", I really meant out of THE office! My apologies to anyone I may have offended, I just forgot to type a simple word..............duh. :o
