Hi, I'm really excited about joining the forum. I know several of you personally and many others by reputation. I've already found some really interesting things by nosing around and I'm impressed. Although my portrait commissions are few and far between, I paint people all the time, so I'm happy I've found my people.

Hey Pam, welcome to the Forum! I'm so happy to see you here and to see your wonderful work on this site! (I met Pam in Arizona and watched as she painted a TERRIFIC model's head. Very impressive!) Hope you will post a lot here. :)

Chris Saper 07-21-2007 07:24 PM

Hi Pam,

Welcome, and terrific work! Look forward to seeing you on line:)

Hi Linda and Chris,

Thanks for the welcome and the encouragement. You're both so inspirational, I really admire your skills and drive.

I can see that the forum is a fine way to connect with like-minded folks with knowledge and energy. I don't know what took me so long.

Mischa Milosevic 07-21-2007 08:17 PM

These are nice Pam. I like the interaction going on between your subjects. One can ceratinly gauge the success or failure of their relationships, hehheh. Nice work.

Pam Powell 07-23-2007 01:25 PM

Thanks Mischa and Linda for the welcome. I really appreciate it.

Linda, I seem to have a soap opera trapped in my head, but its really quite fun.

I really liked your website Mischa, you do good work. I tried to access yours Linda, but the one listed in your biography is no longer active. Have you got an alternative?

Welcome!

Beautiful intelligent work. I will be looking forward to your posts.

Hello Pam,
excellent work! I like that you don't explain the story of your figuratives but let the viewers find themselves what it means for them...
A warm welcome to the Forum.

Mary Sparrow 07-24-2007 10:00 AM

Hi Pam, I absolutely love your work! I can't wait to see more and learn a bit from you. Welcome.

Carlos Ygoa 07-24-2007 03:13 PM

Very impressive work, Pam. You are a veritable chronicler of our times. Yor work has very good gesture and mood aside from technical mastery.
Welcome!

Pam Powell 07-24-2007 07:15 PM

Thank you all very much for the warmest of welcomes. I'm slowly learning the technical side of this, there are a lot of buttons that I'm unsure what to do with, so I'll go slowly. I'm also typing impaired, so short posts will be my trademark.

Pam Powell 07-24-2007 07:25 PM

Wow, I've been looking at all your websites. You have such wonderfully different and accomplished approaches to painting people. I'm going get a lot from the exposure I'm sure.

Alexandra Tyng 07-25-2007 09:00 AM

Welcome, Pam! I just saw your winning entry in IA Magazine. (Everybody should check it out--it's wonderful.) So glad you joined the Forum! I'm looking forward to learning a lot about figurative art from you,

Pam Powell 07-26-2007 12:46 PM

Alexandra, thank you and congratulations to you on all your honors. I was at the conference in May and saw you get your award. I visited your website and am stunned by the breadth of your work. Beautiful!

Thomasin Dewhurst 07-27-2007 11:15 AM

Hello Pam

I very much admire your talent for narratives, portraits and figures, interiors and exteriors, perspective and light, and am even more admiring of how you juggle them so successfully together in each individual painting. Quite a feat! It's very good to have you join us here, and I am looking forward to seeing more of your work and hearing your ideas.
