Ilaria's Portrait Accepted RSPP 2006

I just heard the excellent news Ilaria's portrait of Anna was accepted by the Royal Society of Portrait Painters jury. The RSPP annual exhibition is held in the Mall Galleries in London beginning on the 27th of April until the 14th of March. It is a major portrait event.

Ilaria, Congratulations!!! I hope this brings many new commissions for you.

Ilaria Rosselli Del Turco 03-09-2006 01:37 PM

I am overjoyed!!
I know there are many painters way better then me who are still waiting for an answer from RSPP; perhaps my painting doesn't deserve to hang in the place of some other work, but I am really happy that the commitment with which I have been working in the last months has been given such a price.
It is an encouragement to work even more!

And thank you to my friends over here that helped me with this work!

It is a wonderful painting and I am so happy for you! You have so much talent and I'm delighted you've been accepted into this very prestigious show - brava!

Dear Ilaria,

What fabulous and fortunate news! Don't doubt yourself because this is an exciting portrait and one of the most innovative I've seen. If you teach, I'll come over and study. I am so happy for you and proud of you.

Is there anyone else we know, also accepted into this RSPP show?

Hi Ilaria,
Congratulations! It was a magnificent piece to begin with, so judging panels certainly wouldn't pass out a masterpiece such as this! I would i could physically attend the show when it starts then!

Ilaria Rosselli Del Turco 03-10-2006 09:14 AM

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THIS ENTHUSIASTIC SUPPORT!
News that a few people I know didn't make it this year has saddened me a lot, but still I am very excited and cannot wait to take part to the proceedings.
I also decided to submit work everywhere this year, I would do the needlepoint society too if I could saw!
Jean: that was my husband SMS as he got the news, he doesn't know yet how fast I am going to spend extra income!!
I try to keep the feet on the ground and see if any commission comes about. I emailed my past clients though and they were all very proud.

Now back at the easel, I must keep it up.

I am so sorry that in responding late I can really only say yea yea yea, ditto ditto ditto, etc etc etc. But I really mean it! :)
Seriously, what a wonderful endorsement of all your hard work, dedication and faith in yourself. Soak it all up, wallow in it and then back to the easel with you and achieve even greater heights. Janet

That's a great idea, I work from home so can be pretty flexible regarding time.

Any more UK based members planning a visit?
