International Artists Book
1 Attachment(s)
It's not a portrait, but I wanted to share the news.
My painting "Rose Arbor", acrylic, 16x20 will be published in a new International Artists book entitled "How Did You Paint That? 100 Ways to Paint Flowers & Gardens." Cynthia gave me permission to post this non-portrait. I do not think newspaper articles, which I have had a bunch, count as being published - so this is a first for me. |
Congratulations, and very lovely, Kim. I'd like to live in a place as beautifully depicted as this -- but I'd want someone else to do the garden work.
Actually, I'd like to have this as a second home . . . I'm kind of a fir/larch/pine western/northern mountaineer, but I can enjoy a rose [these look like arbor or prairie roses] almost as much as mountain ground-cover kinnekinnick. Of course, I'm exaggerating for effect. Kinnekinnick wins. Sounds as if I've given myself a new painting challenge. Thanks for the sideways peer "push" into another challenge. |
Lovely. Makes me happy to think that spring is coming!

Thanks Steven & Michele. Yes, it is a beautiful place, unfortunatly it's also below zero for 6 months of the year...b rrr. I painted that in NH where I am originally from. When it's dark and cold so much of the year you sure learn to appreciate the spring!

Kim, this is wonderful news! Congratulations! It's a beautiful painting, too. You ought to be very proud of yourself.

Kim, Congratulations!
That's a beautiful painting -- wouldn't have guessed it was so far north as New Hampshire! You must be thrilled. :) |
Congratulation!
Your work is beautiful. It must be an incredible feeling to get published! |
Beautiful painting Kim, and congrats on getting "published"!

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. It's unreal right now, I can't wait to see the book.
Terri, I just noticed you are from MA - when I hear anyone from home with the accents I get all homesick. I can spot a NH accent vs. MA or Maine...you want to call me and make me homesick? |
Wow, How Wonderful!

Simply Beautiful!
Kim,
This is a wonderful painting. Do you have any information on purchasing the book? Kent  |
Thanks Valerie & Kent!
Kent, the book should be released in August (at least that is when the letter stated they would send out my copies) and it will be available through International Artists - I know they sell their books from their web site and I have seen some in Barnes & Noble. Probably in their magazine as well. Terri, I bet your kids are wicked awesome. |
What a stunning painting, Kim! I feel as though I could walk right through that arbor. And I'm sure that New Hampshire natives really need to hang pictures like that on their walls to get them through those long winters.
Thanks for sharing this with us. Many congratulations! It's well-deserved. |
Thanks! Looking forward to the book.
[QUOTE=Kimberly Dow]Thanks Valerie & Kent!
Kent, the book should be released in August I'll be looking forward to getting it. I have a few paintings with flowers planned. |
