I apologize about the glare. When I get it back I will shoot it again under proper conditions. This painting was a "Special Mention" finalist at the Southern California ASOPA competition held last weekend in Laguna Hills, CA. The judge was Peggy Baumgaertner. |

Spectacular! I really like the dramatic lighting and particularly enjoy the way you've got "the engineer" engaged with a blueprint of some sort. A very interesting pose.

Thank you, Michele. If you like this composition, you should check out "The Writing Master", by Eakins.

Deladier, I was honored to see this painting and the one of "Mack" in person. Your work is very nice and has been a attention grabber at the show. I can't wait to see what comes next.

I just posted a photo of Deladier in the 'Portrait Societies' section of the Forum, linked here.

Thank you, Tim. The subject on this painting is my wife's father.
That painting by Eakins (I don't know if you've seen it up close at the Met), is hypnotic. The amount of information Eakins manages to merely suggest on the skin is incomprehensible. It is all there but only hinted. |
Hello Deladier! No wonder I was so drawn to your work, I'm a fan of Eakins. Now I'm a fan of yours too! But I sure wasn't familiar with The Writing Master until now. You did your inspirations (Eakins and your father-in-law), justice.

This painting just won the People's Choice Award at the 41st Annual Fairfield (California) Visual Arts Juried show.
