James Tennison palette
James was nice enough to share this with me. I love his color and luminosity he achieves with his children
|
Beth,
Any links you can give us to view Mr. Tennison's work? It sounds impressive, but it's hard to visualize from the palette alone. |
Sorry Steven, I should have thought to do that above. I put Mr. Tennison's work right up there with Mr. Whitaker's, it is wonderful.

Thanks for the info. I find it especially interesting because his all-Rembrandt palette is almost exactly what I use. The only difference being that Rembrandt Burnt Umber and Burnt Sienna are indispensable for me. And since I don't yet have a real good method for a wide variety of greens without Pthalo Blue Green Shade, I'm stuck with it.
I like his work, as well. Thanks again. Minh "Rembrandt Fan" Thong |

He's good!
|
Beth,
I've seen one of his subjects. It's very truthful. Thank you for posting. |
If this worked, there should be a photo attached showing James Tennison's palette "in action." He sent me a CD showing the progression of one of his paintings. He's a really nice guy.
SORRY: Don't know what happened. Seems simple, but I can't seem to upload a jpg. |

I am sure someone can help you with that... did you press the "manage attachments" button that shows when you have the white reply box up on your screen? It is underneath. Here are some images that might help you... Beth |
Beth:
Yes, you're right on all counts. Bear in mind, I'm 70 -- I got here before compurers. As Jerry Seinfeld's uncle is fond of saying, "I'm old . . . I'm confused." I just barely manage to get along with these confounded electronic whizbangs. But, thanks for your notes. Let me try again. |
Beth:
To the best of my knowledge, I did as instructed, but failed. Actually, I probably did not do as instructed, or I'm sure it would have worked. Doing the steps was not difficult, found my file from the browse section, and clicked upload, but nothing. Sorry. |
I'll try one more time, but this is embarrasing me . . .

Richard you might have something set up in your "preference" file for the Internet that's causing a problem, I thought of that because I went crazy trying to get the image out of that email account! :) Or perhaps there is a filter or something on the site that needs to be cleared.
Always make sure it's the correct size of a max 400 pixels wide x 600 pixels tall. I love the old saying; "A human can error, it takes a computer to really foul things up"! Thanks for all your efforts! It's wonderful to see this by the way so I hope I get it posted for others. Let's see if it works for me... |
Beth, Richard, thank you for sharing these with us. I certainly appreciate your good will and effort. His work has been an inspiration for me.
Most certainly Mr Tennisons work is quite special. I shore wish I had the pleasure to see him at work or receive instruction. Even a CD would be a blessing but all I can do at the moment is wish. Thank you! Sincerely, mischa |
