Marina, it really is extraordinary! You have pared this down to its essence. In fact, you do that in all your work and that is one reason it speaks so powerfully.Even when there is no allegory or implied story, there is still a meaning that needs no articulation because we all can relate to it.

Marina, your work is always an inspiration to me. Your technical skills with your soul singing through your work when you capture a moment is always a pleasure to view. I would love to see these in real life one day!

Lovely drawing, Marina! Sorry to be so late in coming to this one - I've been away from the forum for a while.

I'm glad this popped up again so that I can comment on this beautiful drawing, Marina - it is so sensitively rendered. I love that slight squash and shift on the lower face, a gesture and pose that reinforces a child's flexibility, vulnerability and charm.

Linda: when I decided to draw her, she had the cheek more squashed, but I had to open a bit the curtain in order to see what I was drawing, and it made her move on the other side, then few minutes later , fortunately she came back in this position...
Yes I think it's about vulnerability. It's incredible to see how they trust their parents, and for few years we are their gods ( and slaves at the same time !)
