Very beautiful work. I'm quite impressed with your skills.

Enzie Shahmiri 03-21-2007 05:50 PM

Just beautiful! I love your baby compositions, they are so unusual and interesting.

Grethe Angen 03-21-2007 06:09 PM

I'm not sure I can define the direction that I'm taking...[/QUOTE]

Marina, I would guess your direction will be towards success. How beautiful!

Marina, well done! I love the composition and the technical execution as well. Stil the composition and subject are what apeal to me most.

Alex,
I kept the drapery volontarily simple. I could have work it much more, going into smaller and smaller shapes, but I wanted to keep the focal point on the face. Thank you.

Claudemir,
thanks!

Enzie,
that's something I thought recenttly : If you look at the past centuries, there are so many babies represented in paintings : Jesus as a baby, angels, cherubs, cupids, allegories of something, young princes and princesses... When I looked at contemporary paintings, I was wondering why there is so few babies ( and when you find some they usually look like poor photographies)
That's a bit strange when you think about the important place of babies in our society...

Grethe,
Ha ha! That's an excellent idea! I'll try to keep it in mind.

Mischa,
thanks a lot!

Marina,
You have a masterful way of handling chalk/charcoal. I am envious. The body under the drapery is very convincing, and the face is just perfect.
Congratulations!

Marina Dieul 03-23-2007 09:38 PM

Thank you, Carlos.
I'm having fun with drawings. I don't have a lot of time to work these times and drawings are quickly done in comparison with paintings. And I still can make a painting from it when I will have more time, if I really like it.

I just realised that I have no title for this piece...
Someone has an idea?

Mike McCarty 03-25-2007 10:24 AM

A beautiful piece, Marina. Well conceived.

I would name it "Modesty."

Heidi Maiers 03-25-2007 12:24 PM

I find that I keep coming back here to look at this drawing Marina - Love it!

Marina Dieul 03-26-2007 09:41 AM

Thanks for the suggestion, Mike.

Heidi, thank you!

I also thought to a possible title : " unveiling"
