Dear Linda,
What a great article! It's a must read. I am proud of you, thanks for that link. Garth |
Finally!
Today I finally went back on the Forum after a trip to Boston, and I saw the link and read the article. It's excellent, Linda! I agree with everything you said, and I think you expressed yourself articulately. And PSA did such a nice spread with four images! My only complaint is that it is not in color--but on the other hand I agree with Chris that the sepia shows up your control of values, and the portraits read incredibly well. Congratulations!

You are all being extremely kind, and thank you all for not teasing me about copying the Polish Rider. :)
Allan, technically the hat in that painting is not a Stetson, it is just a plain old flat-brimmed lady's straw hat. A true Stetson is quite distinctive, made in Texas and has a big dent down the middle. I can no longer wear a hat myself because my head has gotten too big for one. |

Linda,
I keep on learning.......... this is a rose, for you........ ;) Allan |
Wonderful article, Linda. Wow. You must be so proud. If the art world is truly on the cusp of a change in the way it views realist art, you are one of the architects of that change. Way to go. Janet
