Next thing you'll be telling me there is no Santa!

When I got my "NEW" easel 15 years ago, my husband would periodcally inspect it and remind me to keep it clean. I must say it is a NORMAL paint encrusted easel as of the present.

If you were to place both Marvin and a Hughes in what can only imagine as a very large trunk, I daresay the trunk would be empty at the arrival at it's destination, followed by a bizarre news report of a large wheeled motorized easel heading east.

I don't know what Scott Bingham's easel looks like. I would have bought a Hughes if the hurricanes hadn't laid waste to Don's workshop this fall, but since he couldn't fill the order for awhile - and I had already sold my Chantelou to a friend who was dying to take possession of it - I took another look at David Sorg's easel and decided to go with that. It's very easy to move up and down - just a quick push of the fingers - and I really like the fact that it has a tray. Also, although my studio is sizeable, the Hughes would have taken up room that my granddaughter's easel and my Great Dane's rug now occupy. The Sorg has a smaller footprint.

Congratulations on talking Santa into the easel of your dreams, though! Are we going to see photos of your studio with your new toy, Beth?

I did buy the prototype, so other than having all the features, I know it's made of a different wood than the one Bill and Michael have.

Linda posted a link to the thread all about them that Bill posted when Michael received his. They are hand made and take 3 to 6 months for delivery. Scott is a student studying architecture in his free time. He is currently making 6.

I know he uses Brass or Aluminum and and the edge work is ebony. But all I know is it moves easily and Whitaker helped him with the prototype. I would like to have him build a mahl stick "bridge" like Marvin's or Peggy B's.
