Beautiful painting Chris, great attitude like her mom. She will be leaving for college in 17 minutes.

Awe inspiring AND inspirational!

Whew! You MADE IT! Bat Mitzvah celebration and all. Thank you for posting this, Chris. I did so want to see it. The painting of your beautiful girl IS so very powerful. I continue to stand in awe of your work. We do need to celebrate over coffee, however.

Thank you all so much for your comments, they are much appreciated.

Sharon, I paint too slowly to have her sit, although she is happy to model for reasonable lengths of time, and always for photographs...and to wander into the studio when I need to fine -tune color or planes.

Marvin, I do think there is something special about painting a subject with whom there is a close personal connection. Also, painting the same subject many times has a special aspect as well. Thanks for the good wishes.

Here''s a detail of the hands.

Beautiful, Chris. I knew instantly, though I have never met you, that she was your daughter!! Great presence and beautifully painted.

Congratulations to you and to your daughter's coming of age!!

Thanks for posting these - reminds me of Zorn.

Arrgh. Beautiful.

Now I must go burn my brushes...

It amazes me how distinctive (and I suppose, instinctive) the style of certain artists can be. If I was shown this closeup of the hands I would immediately know it was "a Saper".

Excellent

A very striking portrait Chris, beautifully done.
