I have been softening the shadows, actually I have almost repainted the face.

Hi Allan! I like this version much better, it's more true to her.

Sharon Knettell 07-08-2004 11:45 AM

Much better, Allan. Softer and richer.

Beautiful

Hi Allan,

Wow, this is just beautiful. And you have captured her likeness so well. This portrait seems to have a lot of feeling. And I think your background and flowers you have painted are actually prettier than the greenery in the photographs.

Thank you Ladies,

I am happy with the result for now, and will try to get the other two portraits of Camilla finished.

We are having family visiting for the next week so it may take some time before I come back with something.

I will probably be undertaking some more portraits of the family during this week, by taking some photos.

Thank you again for your help and encouragement.

Allan, I like these paintings very much. They have a convincing and fresh outdoor feel to them. And your daughter is beautiful!

A lovely work of art with an interesting blend of surface and depth!

Hi again,

This is the third portrait of Camilla. I chose this reference because of the interesting light on the eye (eyelash) and the hands.
The background was not so appealing to me, and the contrast was also a bit too dark, I think. So i invented the rest of it.

I feel that I only need to paint the jewelry now, but would like a response to help me to decide.

24" x 20" on canvas.

Very nice job. I don't think it needs the jewelry.
