I know it's been a while since the last post, but I recently read Michael's post and found myself saying "Ohhhh, now I get it!" right out loud! It's amazing how many theory classes you can take and not understand something until someone actually shows you while explaining.

I recently completed a three in one painting (which unfortunately was created from another photographer's work - with permission). The composition was terrible, but the client HAD to have this picture recreated. Never again. I found myself, not knowing where the portrait was going in terms of visual direction. I also agree that multiple subjects cause me more distress than doing three portraits separately.

I am glad you enjoyed my post and it was helpful. Many times I am not sure if I get my meaning across. Because I am still struggling along myself, I love to be able to help and share whatever knowledge that has been passed on to me to others when I can. I still have a long way to go myself.

You too will find that having the knowledge is one thing, applying that knowledge is another and still requires a lot of practice.

cheers
