Chris thanks for the clarification on the oils... but I must tell you to add insult to injury, my lovely green tomatoes were picked right out of my own little garden.:bewildere

It may be the photo, but the lower corners of his mouth seem a bit too yellow. Does it show up like this in person?

No, actually the color is closer to a light blue-green. I continue to try to get my posted colors to be more representative, but I am often unsuccessful.

Details
Chris, I like your choice of color for this portrait. It makes him look like the vibrant young man I'm sure he is. Could you post details? I'd really like to see the brushwork in his face. My comp makes the blue/green area by his mouth look greenish too, I thought it was on purpose, so now I'am trying to visualize more blue there. Beautiful portrait, he's a lucky young man!

Jean,
This color is a little closer to the original. You will see more linen weave than brush strokes, though! I paint very thinly, I think because I started out in pastel, and tend to lightly drag one color over another, even though I am using oil. One of my goals for this year is to use more paint. |

Thanks Chris! Your detail has helped me see the soft edges very clearly. What medium do you use? I like the look of linen. It has a very elegant texture when painted with oil.
