ribbon The Stroke of Genius Art Bookstore

If you don't know about the Art Bookstore on my main Stroke of Genius site, I wanted to bring it to your attention. I will unabashedly say it's quite impressive with tons of hours invested. Yes, as I've gotten older, I give myself permission to do a little bragging here and there.

There's around 500 books featured. But, in case that seems daunting, they're organized into categories, which is the main point of why you would go there over going straight to Amazon. (Be sure to use the drop-down navigation menu in the upper right corner). It can save you quite a bit of time hunting over at Amazon or Barnes and Noble sites. That's the good news for you.

The good news for me is if you click on a book I've featured and purchase it, I get up to a 15% commission, which helps to pay me back for some of the time I've invested both in the bookstore and here in creating this forum.

If you use the Amazon search box in the bookstore and order something from that search, I get 5% commission.

Now, if you click on a book from my bookstore and order it, but then continue on searching at Amazon and then order another book (or other product) at Amazon, I don't think I get a commission. But, I don't want to make things too complicated...I leave it up to you whether you come back to the bookstore so I get the credit on that particular transaction.

If you bookmark the bookstore, then anytime you're thinking about a book or other products (Amazon has from soup to nuts nowadays), go through my bookstore first, you'd be doing me a great favor!

There's a domain name straight into it http://www.fineartbooks.com or use the link in the navigation at the bottom of this page from anywhere on A Stroke of Genius.

Many thanks for your support!

So many members are eagerly seeking out first-rate instructional publications, that I thought I'd bring Cynthia's post back up into the light. Imagine getting to visit a library or bookstore in which everything on the shelf was art-related. Here it is. It's a simple decision to shop here first, and Cynthia's premium site reaps the well-earned reward, no cost to you. Painless "giving".

Thanks for that, Steven. Hundreds and hundreds of hours went into the bookstore and each year, I've tried to update with the newest books. However, I must admit that due to time spent in the Forum, that slipped this year. I did just now do a search on "portrait painting" at Amazon and found a couple of interesting things. There really wasn't anything significant on portrait painting that was new in in 2002 and that Chris Saper's book came up number one when I sorted the results according to bestsellers. Congratulations Chris!

There are a couple of Sargent books that just came out.

I noticed some guests viewing this thread, so I thought I'd better enter an update since they would not have the benefit of the email sent to registered users. In fact, the bookstore has had a major update as of the end of 2006.
