New to the forum
Hi, my name is Nick Hemstreet. I am a 27 year old in Denver, CO. I am a professional tattoo artist and have only been tattooing and painting for 2.5 years but have been an artist my whole life. I am looking forward to learning from everyone on this forum as I am a newbie. I am moving to Brazil for 6 months coming a week and a half from now in order to focus on my painting. I tattoo 6 days a week, 6-8 hours a day and work over 80+ hours a week, and still have tendencies to think I am being a slacker and being lazy. It kind of wears me out, especially only have been doing it for 2.5 years. One of these days (hopefully in Brazil) I will gain wisdom and learn balance. I just need to do artwork for myself instead of client work all the time. I am hoping to learn some of that from this forum. I am a very thirsty for knowledge and think I will become obsessed on this forum. I have this obsession of watching youtube videos on painting and drawing in order to learn more and more. It is a pleasure to be a part of you guys. Thanks.

After looking at all of the other introductions it looks like everyone wants to see current work. So here are a few of mine. The first is a self portrait. The hand obviously isn't a portrait but it is my own hand and eye. Thought I would post it. I don't have very many paintings to choose from as I haven't been painting long. I am very nervous about posting these on here as I am seeing everyone's work. I feel totally out of my league. Thanks again for having me.

Hello, Nick, welcome to the SOG Forum. You'll find that, as a painter with an obsessive thirst for knowledge, you are not alone here!

Hi Nick and welcome! No need to feel shy -- that's some really nice work especially for someone who hasn't been painting long.

Hi Nick, that's great work for someone who's been painting for such a short period. Keep at it and you will be rocking soon enough
