Brockhurst exhibit: Georgia Museum of Art




You know "retina burn"? This guy's oil portraits have it in spades! They call to you from across the room. The subjects have more presence than the people looking at them. Yes, they're society portraits, so somewhat idealized. But - wow! See this exhibit if you can.
I plan to go back and study them some more.

Sorry they don't show the oils. The Ga. Museum of Art collection has some real treasures and every now and then they pull some out for show.
