Best portrait society

I am also a member of ASOPA and can't remember when I last received their journal.

I'd like to know from the pros which societies they belong to that they consider worthwhile.

Thanks,
Alicia

I think ASOPA is pretty much closed down, or nearly so. Their website has no information on it more recent than 2002. If I'm wrong in this, please correct me, someone.

The only national portrait society I know of that is fully functioning is Portrait Society of America.

Portrait Society of Atlanta is great!

I am a member of all the societies but the one I have had the most experience with is the Portrait Society of Atlanta. Apart from being wonderful folks down there in the South, there organization is wonderfully run and operated. I am overly impressed with their operations.

Not to mention their quarterly magazine "Folio" is a beautiful publication... better than any of the Societies pubs.

Best
Tony

Thanks Tony,

I must admit that ASOPA seems to have dropped the ball. I will check out Atlanta's society. We Southeners sometimes get a bad rap, thanks for the compliment.

National art show? where?

Just think SOG is the one, the exhibition hall, then we need to replace work annually.
