I believe that Igor Babailov and Juan Martinez are members.

Hi David. I myself would like to know more about the society too. Post something if you have some information on them. Thanks.

Josef, I am not in an hurry to join. I sent them an email over a week ago and have not heard from them. Just like most artist's groups, I have heard good and bad things. At this point, I am not sold on any benefit I might receive from membership with this particular society. I want to find an environment that mirrors this website (at least in part) with the opportunity for artists to visit each other's studio's or attend workshops and seminars. As I mentioned earlier, I am having a hard time finding a really good workshop or seminar within a 2 hour drive from my home. Time and financial constraints prevent me from attending any of the workshops found in the US. I was hoping that this society would have catered to my specific needs, but have not heard any compelling argument to convince me of it's merits. I'll keep my ears open. Josef, do you find yourself in the same situation in Montreal?

David, Yes, I feel the same way. Actually even worse because I am further away from Toronto. At least you could go to the Society's arts festival easier. I am hesistant to join too because of the same reason. I joined ASOPA last year and I have not heard from them since the initial newsletter. They went under? Anyways, I will keep you posted if anything comes up.
