This actually looks like it's a very nice painting. I think the reason no one ever responded is because there is no facial closeup.

A nice evocative memorial. Cynthia is justified in bringing your thread back.
Kent, what has the response been to the real painting over the past three years? I suppose his wife was strongly moved.

As you can expect. Everyone loves this painting. The only thing is I really have a hard time giving any value to opinions from non-artist. Even if I paint something that I think is horrible, many people here may think it looks great.
Funny thing is... about 80% of my subjects are deceased. It makes for very difficult photo sessions so the light is not always as I'd like. Right now I'm actually working on 2 living subjects. What a change for me. I'll post them when I'm done.
