Ted, not a pirate.
I had our favorite, Ted in the studio again tonight.
I am pulling out the charcoal and thinking in value, as I am going to a workshop and going to be painting with the old grayscale and want to start thinking in black and white again.
So here is our old pal on charcoal paper, 14" x 11".

Debra, hi!
Very nice portrait. Curious where exactly in AZ are you attending these studio sessions. I've been looking at Glendale Community College and also the Scottsdale Artist School, but unfortunately haven't found any that meet my schedule. One more question. Hope you don't mind. Are there any kinds of artist groups in AZ. Haven't been able to find any. I was going to go to the AZ Art Supply store and check on their postings board this Thursday.
Thanks,
Brian
PS. Your Susie portrait is also very nicely executed.

Debra, this came out very nice. You have a nice range of values here. Hope to join you again soon for another open studio session!

Debra,
Very nice work. Today, I saw your step-by-step demonstration for this drawing at WetCanvas.com. I appreciate your sharing the process. Jimmie Arroyo is doing the same thing over there.
I appreciate the education you guys are giving me.
