I've got "Painting Portraits in Oil the Van Wyk Way" on my drafting table. My favorite quote is "Don't use small brushes. Small brushes make you look at small things."

The corrections quote is wonderful. One of the things I liked best about her method is the placing of a mostly-right stroke, shaped into correctness by the next stroke, different brush, different color. Opened a whole new world for me!

Our PBS around here shows a lot of religious commentary. I even have to import my NPR from Ann Arbor.
