First live model - 2.5 hrs

Last night I had the opportunity to paint a portrait from a live model for the first time at my oils class. I am going to have to figure out how to get my kids to sit still! Dang, it was fun. Particularly when I got far enough along to see a really good likeness. I still struggle with paint and brush - trying to get them to do what I want, but it's getting easier. A few hundred more attempts should do it!

I have to admit that I messed up both the eyes and the mouth at times when I had a better definition of form, but it's all a learning experience. I tried to get them to let me photograph the model for my own record to show the likeness, but my teacher was emphatic that I not do that. She's sure I'm going to "cheat" I think.
