Very nice Marina,
I especially like the eyes and the fleshyness of the forms with those chubby red cheeks. Interesting background selection - almost as if her little golden hair curls blend with the golden arcs in the pattern, causing an angelic radiating-halo sort of effect.

Sweet little painting!
It is so difficult to portrait someone that age, plus they normally dribble and cry and move about and ... taking a good picture is some times impossible.

This is so well thought-out and executed. The first thing that struck me was the color scheme of rose, blue and gold--not at all the cutesy pastel pink-yellow-blue baby theme--much richer, more like Renaissance colors. They give the portrait dignity while also making a reference to cherubs and gold leaf and heavenly ultramarine. That said, I also love the cheeks and the expression and the way (as Ilaria mentioned) the background is an abstract continuation of the hair. It's original in a subtle way.

This is so exquisite and intellegently designed! Alex said what I wanted to say. The colors are dominant and hardly cutesy; almost a blue-white-and-red theme infused with gold and blond. The segway from blond hair to gold background curls is brilliant, and the intimate 10 inch scale is perfect! I love the careful fit and placement of this little girl's pose in the composition; this is just about perfection!

Yes, photos of little ones are challenging ( and that's why I like it! ), but if they dribble and cry and move, they also have a wide range of facial expressions, in comparison with adults ( unless they are actors). I'm developping techniques to obtain the result I want,
but I need the help of one or two adults, and sometimes more than one photo session...
