Saper December Focused Study Workshop

Like the November workshop, four students attended the December class-we had a great time!

We worked via a combination of live sittings and photographic resources. In the following picture, you'll see Kay taking measurements from life. Our model Ashley, was posed in a cool light, wearing and surrounded by colors designed to maximize the sense of cool color.

And here you'll see Alice, now continuing with photo resources only, and all of us - showing progress on Friday.

We'll add final images once everyone is ready.

Chris Saper's Dec. focused workshop

I attended Chris Saper's Dec. focused workshop and I'd like to comment and thank her. Chris spent many hours helping each individual student with all their specific concerns about the painting process itself and how to build a career as a portrait artist. She was gracious, generous, and thoughtful, as always, and I publicly wanted to thank her for everything!! It was a great learning experience as well as great fun!!!

Chris I saw the mention of your workshop in the PSOA newsletter and noticed it didn't say where the location would be. Either I missed it or it's in Scottsdale.

Let us know if it's on the road!

These look great and what a beautiful model you found.

Focused and fun

Thank you, Chris, for a wonderful week and a tremendous amount of information presented in an organized manner. As a professional portrait artist, my desire is to take my business to the next level, and you have certainly given me the boost I needed. I really appreciated the small group, because we could each get attention as needed while painting, and our questions were answered promptly. Critiques on artwork are always helpful, but I found it very valuable to get business advice on a personal level. I think it is far more effective to study with a mentor like you than to go to a seminar or read a book. I also discovered that my camera equipment needs an upgrade, and you gave me specific directions on what to buy and how to use it. To see the difference between my printout and yours was a revelation.

I had so much fun! You are a delightful person and a gracious hostess. Thank you for "underpromising and overdelivering."
