What do galleries want, and what sells?
From some of the posts I have seen, some have said galleries are not interested in portrait art. Is this true?
Should an artist then do some imaginative work, you know, figurative themes they might take interest in? Locally here we have a gallery that I know represents portrait artists, because it represents my instructor.
In fact, I know I will be showing my art there as well. But, I was wondering how it is as a whole; this gallery might be the exception to the rule.
My main interest is, while building a portrait clientele, I would like to be able to have work that would sell and provide some income...what are your thoughts on this?
