Two Sisters
This charcoal piece was just delivered. Thought I would share it, as I am happy with how it turned out.

You should be happy as this is an excellent double portrait. Very impressive. I'm curious: did you have the two children pose or was an already existing photo given to you?

Thanks, David, you're very kind. I posed them and took the photos, but had to use several shots and piece it all together. I didn't get much time for photos: the girls were wanting to go out and play, and the littlest one was getting real cranky. The legs were all akimbo, so I had the older sister pose in a separate photo for the skirts (which were plaid - I simplified considerably). The hands were also taken from several different photos, with some invention needed.

Thanks, Claudemir and Marina. I can look and see a few things I would have done differently, but isn't that almost always the case? Anyway, the mom was very happy with it, and I think it captures her daughters' personalities. The girls assumed the basic pose on their own.

Julie,
The girls may have assumed the general position naturally, but you are the one who recognized the potential for a good composition and brought together the details that made it work. There's a nod to formality but a feeling of spontanaeity that makes this so appealing. And when you add the way you have caught the relationship between the sisters, and their expressions, it's even more appealing!
