This is an 20" x 18" oil of a friend's little boy. While this is still a work in progress, I could use a little feedback regarding his shirt...PLAID! I can't even look at plaid now without wanting to shred it. Any suggestions on how to improve this would be appreciated greatly.

As a side note, Joseph's hairline is a bit irritating. His mother is fond of cutting his hair and prefers this look. Unfortunately, I must leave this as is.
