Zhaoming Wu wooden palette box

Hello - I just saw one of Zhaoming Wu's DVDs (amazing amazing painter!), who uses what looks like a large wooden box (maybe 30 x 24) to put his oil paints in. The box has 2 hinged "doors" that close down on the palette when not in use. His palette was not clean in the fashion that a hand-held palette would be (ideally...) - there was a lot of dried paint around the edges.

I've never seen anything like it, and a search online shows nothing similar. He mentioned that it keeps his paints dry for longer periods than other palettes.

Anybody aware of this type of palette?

Thanks
